Sources & Citations
National Disability Resource Project cites primary sources wherever possible to ensure accuracy and allow readers to verify information independently. This page explains our citation practices and research standards.
Where information comes from
All content is researched directly from official government sources. We do not summarize other summaries — we go to the primary documents:
- Official state Medicaid agency websites
- CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) waiver documentation and policy guidance
- State developmental disabilities agency publications and program guides
- Federal program regulations and eligibility rules
How sources appear on pages
State guide pages include a "Sources" section with direct links to the official documents used to write the page. This lets you verify information yourself or go directly to your state agency. Not every page has a formal sources section — some topic pages link to relevant resources inline.
Keeping sources current
We run automated checks to monitor official state and federal pages for changes. When an update is detected, we review and update the relevant guide. Links are checked regularly, but if you find a broken or outdated link, please let us know.
Have a question about a source? If you can't access a link, think a source is out of date, or want to suggest a better reference, contact us.
