Digital Accessibility
National Disability Resource Project is committed to digital accessibility for everyone, and we hold ourselves to that standard because accessibility is the core of our mission. We design and develop this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This includes semantic HTML structure, descriptive link text, alt text on meaningful images, sufficient color contrast, keyboard navigability, and support for screen readers and other assistive technology.
We know no site is ever perfectly accessible, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a finished checklist. If you encounter a barrier on this site — anything that makes a page difficult or impossible to use — please contact us at cbrown@ndrproject.com and we will prioritize a fix.
What we've built
- Semantic HTML structure for proper navigation by screen readers
- Descriptive link text that explains where each link goes
- Alt text on all meaningful images and icons
- Sufficient color contrast (WCAG AA standard)
- Full keyboard navigation support
- Support for common assistive technologies
Built-in accessibility tools
This site includes a built-in Accessibility toolbar (the settings icon in the top navigation) with options for:
- Larger text sizes
- High contrast mode
- Increased line spacing and letter spacing
- Dark mode
The site also includes English–Spanish translation support via the language toggle in the header.
Known limitations
This site is actively being developed and improved. Some content may not yet be fully optimized for all assistive technologies. We are working to improve this over time.
